Unadilla
is the home of New York’s only Pro National MX and continues to be
the place to race on National weekend. This year’s Pro National
weekend presented by Renegade will be no different. Over 1,000
racers will compete in 30 classes and in as many as 50 motos each
day!. This is not just a local amateur event. Racers last year came
from Canada and 17 states to be a part of Unadilla Pro National
weekend.
UNADILLA IS ONE OF THE ONLY TRACKS THAT OFFERS TWO FULL DAYS OF
AMATEUR RACING AROUND NATIONAL WEEKEND. All racing is conducted on
U2, our very popular and challenging amateur track. Because this
track is separate from our national track, you the racer get a
longer, more challenging track and longer motos too! If racing is
running long on Saturday, we do not need to shut down for the
pros!!!
Returning
again for 2008 is the Pro-Am racing program on Friday and Saturday
for those looking for points towards their AMA Professional
Motocross and Lites endorsement.
Pre-entry is strongly encouraged but not required. Racers under the
age of 18 who will not be attending with their parent(s), should
read further for more information about completing the entry
process. The AMA “Competition Membership” card will not be honored
without either a parent in attendance OR a signed, notarized
permission slip specific to this event and location. Further
information can be found under the “Entry Details” section.

RACERS INTERESTED IN THE PRO-AM LITE OR PRO-AM
MX CLASSES NEED TO BE PRESENT BOTH FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
FIRST MOTOS FOR BOTH CLASSES RACE ON FRIDAY AND
SECOND MOTOS ON SATURDAY.
Entry Information:
The following is the information you need to both pre-enter and
post-enter the amateur event.
-
Each racer must be an AMA member (you can join
at the track)
-
District card or race receipt required to verify
which class you belong in (A,B, or C). This helps us to make
sure entry in ability class is fair to all.
-
District membership not required
-
All racers under 18 years of age must be
accompanied by their parent. If a parent will not be in
attendance then a notarized permission slip is absolutely
required. THE AMA COMPETITION MEMBERSHIP CARD DOES NOT
REPLACE THIS REQUIREMENT. The permission slip must read as
follows:
| (Date) I hereby give
permission for my (son/daughter), (child’s full name), to
race in the Annual Amateur Summer Classic motocross at
Unadilla Motocross, New Berlin, NY on July 18 & 19, 2008.
(Name) will be responsible for (him/her) during the event.

Pre-entry is highly recommended. Not only is it
cheaper for you, but it helps us to get classes set up more
quickly and a race schedule drafted before the weekend. The
sooner we can get started on Friday, the less pressured your
racing experience will be.
-
Those who pre-enter must still go to sign-up to
the pre-entered area to complete releases and obtain practice
tickets.
-
Pre-entered riders only may begin check-in at
registration area at 6 pm on Thursday evening.
-
Pre-entry must be postmarked by June 30, 2008.

minor under 18 must be accompanied in the pits by a
parent/guardian. No personal checks will be accepted.
Riders and teams determine the amount of time
each racer will be available for autographs. We cannot guarantee
the availability of any particular racer on either day.
Guests in the pits are expected to act
appropriately. Please do not beg or pester riders for items that
do not belong to you (i.e.: rider’s jerseys, goggles, helmets,
etc.). Open pits are not a right. Each year the promoters of the
national mx series receive complaints about fan behaviour during
open pits. The complaints have to be addressed in a satisfactory
way before there is agreement to allow open pits again this
year. Make sure that you don’t do anything that will ruin this
in the future.

without a permit can be disabled for the weekend.
Arrival Information:
| NEW YORK STATE REGULATIONS NO LONGER ALLOW FOR EARLY
ARRIVALS. OUR GATES WILL OPEN AT NOON ON THURSDAY. DO NOT
ARRIVE EARLIER AS THERE WILL BE NO PLACE FOR YOU TO PARK.
PULLING OVER ON ROUTE 8 PUTS YOU AND OTHERS IN DANGER.
PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY. |
-
Amateur
racers should watch for entry arrows upon arrival. Alternate
gates will be utilized due to volume and during inclement
weather.
All
vehicles will be subject
to a vehicle search prior to entering our grounds at any time,
including any re-entry.
-
Due to the
size of this event, maintaining your safety on Rt. 8 is a
primary concern. Although we try to take people first come first
served, this isn’t always possible due to both the back-up
conditions on the highway and the volume of racers who all
arrive within the same time span.
-
Fire lanes
on the amateur campground are a requirement of the State of New
York. On this issue, we think they are right. We need to be able
to get to you if there is an emergency situation. If we don’t
have fire lanes, we will be required by state officials to empty
the lot and re-park everyone. No one wants this to happen.
Therefore, we will park you upon arrival. If you want to park
with someone in another vehicle, you must arrive together. No
spots can be held.
-
For over 10
years, we have not offered spectator camping. Your family or
crew needs to be in attendance by Friday. If you are
arriving separately, you will need to sign in anyone joining you
later.
-
NO VENDING IS ALLOWED AT ANY TIME- IF YOU
DON’T HAVE PERMISSION TO SELL IT, LEAVE IT HOME!!
-
Please note
that spectator camping is not available at Unadilla during Pro
National Weekend. Overnight camping is allowed for amateur
racers and their families at no additional charge. All crew and
family members will need to arrive prior to Friday night in
order to join you.
