Unadilla began promoting professional motocross races in 1969. Since that time, several hundred thousand spectators have witnessed our events live while several million more have watched them on TV. The infamous Unadilla track is known all over the world, and is considered to be among the best tracks in the
United States. Unadilla events are known for their organization, attendance, and the amount of local, national, and international media attention they receive.
Each July, we host a round of the AMA 125/250 Pro Motocross Nationals. This event is part of a 12 round series which crosses the whole country. Last year, 22,000 people attended this event, while another 40,000 listened live over the internet.
What does all this mean for you?
Direct interaction with our fans: As a sponsor, you will have the opportunity to directly interact with our fans during the event. Our on-site program can include a display area and a hospitality area. It also includes many mentions of your company and/or products over our PA system. The PA system can be heard by nearly everyone attending our events. By having a display area in our “vending area” you can be assured of plenty of traffic passing by your site.
Prime Time TV Exposure: Both of our events are televised nationally by ESPN2 (motocross) and Speedvision (truck race). Last year, over 1.4 million households watched our events on these networks. As a sponsor, you can obtain exposure through these broadcasts in one or more ways. One or both of our events can be re-named to include your company, which gives you exposure through audio mentions during the TV broadcast (for example Company X Outdoor Motocross Championships at Unadilla). Your company can also provide advertising banners, which lead to a visual exposure captured by the cameras which film our event for the TV broadcast. This also leads to a more impressive on-site presentation.
Live Internet Webcast Exposure: Our July motocross national also has a live audio webcast through the internet. You can receive exposure through audio mentions over our PA system as mentioned earlier. The webcast uses the announcer’s feed for this webcast. Last year, over 40,000 people were listening live through the net, and another 60,000 + listened during the week after our event.
Product Demonstrations: Because your product or service is unique, so to should be its presentation. Last year, we put on a demonstration for our fans, which highlighted the products of one of our sponsors, Bombardier Recreational Products. While jumping a four wheeler on a motocross track isn’t all that unique, jumping two together with a snowmobile in-between certainly is (see photo below). According to a Bombardier representative, once this demo was over, their display area was filled with interested potential buyers the rest of the day.
Fully integrated on-site package: As you can see from these photos, by making use of all these features, Bombardier received tremendous exposure. By integrating their product display with advertising banners and
hay bale covers (see above photo), then using a script for our PA announcer to read during the event, and then topping it off with a unique product demo, Bombardier got tremendous “bang for their buck.”
