MX REWIND

Presented by NYCM INSURANCE

JUNE 4 – JUNE 6, 2021

Where racing history comes alive…..

Back when we opened the gates for the first MX Rewind, we had high hopes that it would become a destination event for vintage racers from all over. Thanks to you, this year will be the 10th year anniversary of what has become one of the largest vintage racing events anywhere.

MX Rewind presented by NYCM Insurance is for racers and fans alike. There is plenty of cross-country, grass track and motocross racing. MX Rewind is all about celebrating everything we all love about two wheel racing. Off the track, there’s nothing better than kicking back with old and new friends and bench racing around a campfire.

MX Rewind Presented by NYCM Insurance….Where It’s All About Racing!!

While we hope someday soon this will come to an end, the 2021 MX Rewind Presented by NYCM Insurance will be run under safety conditions. This means a face covering (mask or gaiter) when you are unable to be 6′ socially distant from those you did not arrive with and social distancing. When you leave your campsite, be sure to have a face covering with you. They are required at the registration area, the posting board, viewing area, concession area, and staging area if you are accompanying a racer. You must remain socially distanced from others not in your group in the viewing areas. This will eventually come to an end just not in 2021.

ARRIVAL INFORMATION

Thursday and Friday we will use Gate S4 as both an entrance and exit. See the click button to the left for a facility map showing the location of Gates S4 and Gates S1/S2.

Saturday and Sunday we will use Gates S1/S2 by the large white barn as the entrance and exit gate.

VINTAGE RACING

NO MEMBERSHIPS OF ANY KIND ARE NEEDED FOR ANY EVENT AT MX REWIND. Racing all three days (Friday-Sunday) is pretty easy to do and the eligible years for the cross-country event has been expanded to include up to 1997 year models. That’s right, many of you who were previously excluded from cross-country now are included!

A couple of series have decided to use MX Rewind Presented by NYCM Insurance as points paying events and we’re happy to have them. But whether you are after points or not, you still do NOT need any membership of any kind to race any day at MX Rewind. So come and plan to have some fun.

MX Rewind remains all about celebrating everything we all love about two wheel racing. Off the track, there’s nothing better than kicking back with old and new friends and bench racing around a campfire. MX Rewind….Where It’s All About Racing!!

All motocross racing except for the grass track takes place on the Unadilla Pro National track, rewound to be vintage friendly.

PRE-ENTRY INFORMATION

Pre-entry is on hold as we await motorsports guidance from NY State. No one can tell us when this guidance is coming. Yeah, we’re as “shocked” by this as you are. Not like it’s spring or anything.

CLASS INFORMATION

IF YOU ARE UNSURE ON WHAT CLASS YOU SHOULD ENTER FOR ANY OF THE WEEKEND’S RACING EVENTS, EITHER REACH OUT TO US OR ENTER THE CLASS YOU THINK  YOU SHOULD BE IN. WE CAN MAKE ANY CLASS CHANGES THAT NEED TO BE MADE AT THE EVENT. NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!! FOR THOSE USED TO “SUPPORT CLASSES”, SUNDAY’S POST VINTAGE CLASSES COVER BIKES THROUGH 1999 SO THERE IS NO NEED FOR “SUPPORT CLASSES” THAT DAY. SATURDAY WE DID ADD A FEW “NEWER” CLASSES TO THE LINE UP SO EVERYONE CAN RACE ON SATURDAY.

Cross-country has a couple of changes this year. First, we will start with an 7:30 am riders’ meeting for all cross-country racers. Cross-country racing starts at 8:00 am with the vintage division, all novice classes (vintage and post vintage bikes) and the women’s class. At approx. 9:45 am will be send off the post-vintage intermediate and expert divisions. Post-vintage this year includes steel frame bikes up through and including 1997. This gives a few more bikes the opportunity to woods race.

IF YOU ARE GOING FOR SERIES POINTS, THEY WILL BE AWARDED ON HOW YOUR PERFORMANCE COMPARES TO OTHER RACERS IN YOUR SERIES ONLY.

CAMPING PASSES

While camping spots do not sell out, you can purchase your camping pass in advance online beginning April 1st.

Staying on-site has become a favorite as people join their family around the campfire. It will be a bit different this year as the tall tales, memories of old, and relaxing with beer in hand must be kept to those who you arrived with. No need to spend time going back and forth to a motel when you can put your feet up at the end of the day and motocross until, well, whenever!! Camping makes it not only easier to enjoy Friday and Saturday nights without the hassle of having to drive anywhere at the end of the evening but has you right there ready to go the next morning.

Camping spots are first come, first served and are primitive spots. Water is available to fill tanks/drums but not for individual hook up. We do our best to accommodate groups wanting to park next to each other. If you arrive together, you can definitely park together! Otherwise, we do our best to accommodate getting everyone parked together who wants to be together.

  • Camping gates open Thursday, June 3rd at 1pm and close at 11 pm nightly.
  • Camping is available to racers and their family/crew only at this time. This may change as the event draws closer. Please feel free to call us (607/965-8450) for guidance.
  • Enhanced spacing will be utilized. We are prepared to use the entire facility but doubt we will need to.
  • Modern toilets and showers are available on-site.
  • Each camping spot will hold one vehicle (including a trailer in tow)
  • Hook-ups are not available but there is access to potable water upon arrival
  • For groups wanting to camp near each other, the easiest way is to plan to arrive together. Otherwise, we will do our best to get everyone parked near each other as you arrive.
  • Please bring your own trash bags. Dumpsters will be available to carry your trash to.
