EVENT FAQ's

Welcome to the FAQ page for Unadilla Motocross. You will find answers to frequently asked questions listed by event below.

JDAY OFF-ROAD

I’m not a JDay member. Can I still race?
You will need to either buy a weekend JDay membership or a full year JDay membership.
What is the difference between Saturday and Sunday?
Each day is a stand alone event. It’s a double header and you can race either or both days. The course will have some modifications between Saturday and Sunday so that you aren’t racing the exact same course both days.
Is Pre-entry Available?
Pre-entry is strongly encouraged. You can find the pre-entry on the JDay website at www.jdayoffroad.com. Pre-entry usually opens about a week before the event. There is a class size limit so pre-entry guarantees your spot. In the past, as long as you pre-entered, you were able to get the class(es) you wanted no problem.
Can I pre-enter if I'm not a member?
Pre-registration is open to both members and non-members. Remember, you will still need to purchase a JDay weekend or full year membership at registration.
Do I need to be a member of the AMA/ATVA to race this event?
No. But you do need to be a JDay member. You can join at the track by purchasing either a weekend or full year JDay membership.
Where can I go to get race information?
You can visit the series website at www.jdayoffroad.com.
Do you accept credit cards?
At the gate we do accept American Express, Discover Card, MasterCard, and Visa but a convenience charge is added to every entry charged. You will need to check with the JDay folks about whether they take credit cards on site or not.
We cannot make the gate closing time on Friday/Saturday. Is there somewhere we can park until the gates open in the morning?
Yes, we have a large holding area across the road so you are safely off the highway. Please pull all the way in leaving room for any others in the same situation.
Where can I go to get general facility information?
You can visit our website at www.unadillamx.com . Under the “Events” tab you will find the JDay event. Admission prices, camping fees, gate opening and closing times, etc can be found there. Food and ice will be available for purchase at the event on Saturday and Sunday, including breakfast and coffee!
I really would like some footage of my child racing. Do you allow drones?
No, drones are not allowed over the facility at any time. If you have a Go Pro, attached to the helmet or bike, they are allowed.

LORETTA LYNN’S YOUTH REGIONAL QUALIFIER

Is there a Friday practice day ahead of the qualifier?
Yes, there is an optional practice day, weather permitting, for competitors on Friday. Practice is only open to event competitors and is organized by class(es) you are attempting to qualify in.
We cannot make the gate closing time on Thursday/Friday. Is there somewhere we can park until the gates open in the morning?
Yes, we have a large holding area across the road so you are safely off the highway. Please pull all the way in leaving room for any others in the same situation.
Only one of my parents can attend. What do I do?

Please contact us ahead of time (phone is best-607/965-8450) so that we can email you an on-line racing waiver. WE NOW REQUIRE BOTH PARENTS TO SIGN THE MINOR RACING WAIVER. We can email you or the missing parent an on-line racing waiver to cover their absence. Divorce/separation/deployment does NOT waive this requirement.

Do I have to be qualifying for Loretta Lynn's to race this event?
Yes. This event is only open to those who qualified for the Loretta Lynn’s Northeast YOUTH national classes. It is not a come-one-come-all event.
What days will my son/daughter be racing?

Registering for this event is a two step process. First, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU REGISTER YOUR ATTENDANCE THROUGH MX SPORTS. THIS GETS YOU YOUR SPOT. Second, you will need to come to on-site registration and check in. You will pay a fee to both MX Sports and the track for this event.

Oops, I didn't register for the Regional through MX Sports. Now what?

If you are eligible to attend the northeast region youth class(es), and did not hold your spot through MX Sports, you can still attend this event. We will do our best to place you in as an alternate. Alternates are placed in classes by power ranking. We take alternates only to the number that fills the starting gate. In other words, if 39 racers are pre-registered in a class and all 39 show up, we can take 2 alternates to fill the gate. If there are 42 or more racers pre-registered for a class and all show up, we will take alternates by power ranking to fill 64 spots. We will not accept alternates in any class that would then force a qualifier to be run for that class.

To register as an alternate, you will need to come to registration and pay all the appropriate fees. If we are unable to seat you in the program, we will refund your fees (expect for Friday practice). Alternates are able, and encouraged, to do the Friday practice day as well as Saturday morning practice. Don’t worry, we will walk you through everything at sign up if you register as an alternate.

This can be a bit confusing, please feel free to call us (607/965-8450) and we can help you!

I'm an alternate. Can I still practice on Friday?
Yes, we recommend you do. We also recommend that you go out for the brief practice on Saturday morning. Once registration closes, we will notify all alternates as to whether they can be seated in the program. It’s best that you act like you will be seated until you know one way or another.
What days will my son/daughter be racing?

All first motos are on Saturday. We will also get through any qualifiers and LCQs as well as some second motos on Saturday as well. The remaining second motos and all third motos are on Sunday.

This is a three moto event. All three motos count towards overall scoring.

I am under 18 and my parent cannot attend. How do I register for the event?

Please contact us ahead of time so that we can email you or your parents an on-line racing waiver. Both parents need to sign the waiver—divorce/separation/deployment does not override this requirement.

Do you accept credit cards?

We do accept American Express, Discover Card,MasterCard, and Visa but a convenience charge is added to every entry and/or ticket charged.

I really would like some footage of my child racing. Do you allow drones?

No, drones are not allowed over the facility at any time. If you have a Go Pro, attached to the helmet or bike, they are allowed.

Can I Race Both Cross-Country and The Grass Track?
You absolutely can and many will! Cross-country racing is scheduled to end before we start grass track practice. Should something unexpected delay the finish of cross-country racing, we will add a practice at the very end of the grass track practice sessions for those racers.
Can I race every day?
We have classes for all bikes up to 1999 each day. Saturday is a bit more limited for bikes from 1978-1999 because it is more of a vintage (pre 1978) day but we still gotcha covered.
I have a 1999 bike. What events can I do?
You can race the Post Vintage Cross Country and Grass Track Scrambles on Friday. The extra classes on Saturday and then several classes on Sunday. As long as your bike is a 1999 or earlier, we can keep you racing all weekend!
I am under 18 and my parent cannot attend. How do I register for the event?

Please contact us ahead of time so that we can email you or your parents an on-line racing waiver. Both parents need to sign the waiver—divorce/separation/deployment does not override this requirement. We recommend pre-entering so you are covered by both signatures ahead of the event.

I have several people coming and we all want to camp together. I’m not sure we can arrive together, however. Can we hold spots?
At this event, we can help you hold spots for your friends. Just tell the parkers how many more vehicles are in your party and it should all work out! Part of the fun of this event is good times with racing friends so we want you to be together!

We do accept American Express, Discover Card, MasterCard, and Visa but a convenience charge is added to every ticket/entry purchased.
I really would like some footage of the racing. Do you allow drones?

It is easier if you all come in the same vehicle but that doesn’t always work. We do have an “extra car” parking area in Camp Lot 7 for extra cars. One one motorized vehicle is allowed on a camp site so any extra vehicles must go in the extra car parking area.
